Adidas is taking its magic of conquering the fastest roads in world record fashion and applying it to the trail with the Agravic Speed Ultra Evo.

The trail-focused model was developed as part of a multi-year program alongside the company’s athletes to fine tunes the shoe in some of the most rugged terrain in order to strike the ideal balance of speed with “greater confidence and stability.”

“Trail running asks so much more of a shoe. Our challenge was finding the balance between speed, stability and confidence, and that’s exactly what the Agravic Speed Ultra Evo was built to deliver,” Adidas senior manager of footwear innovation Korbinian Lehner said.

The Agravic Speed Ultra Evo tips the scale at just around 250 grams, which is around five percent lighter than its stablemate, the Agravic Speed Ultra 2, and serves up more than ten percent energy return and just over one percent running economy.

Meanwhile, the model is built based on the same Energyrim technology that underpins the Adios Pro Evo 3, which introduced the innovation, and allows both sides of the shoe to move independently. That process ensures adaptability in uneven conditions but also ensures improved stability.

The model rides on a generous helping of Lightstrike Pro foam in the midsole which Adidas promises provides function for the foot 15 without compromising stability. A tuned rocker ensures smooth transitions and efficient landing that inspire confidence no matter the terrain.

The shoe gets a locked down feel from an engineered woven upper that is durable with a soft, stretch feel that comes with a built-in debris protection collar.

The Agravic Speed Ultra Evo is available now in very limited numbers at select retailers during UTMB Mont Blanc for $500 and arrives later this year in limited quantities via Adidas.
