  • Letsile Tebogo, Ryan Crouser, Sha'Carri Richardson and Shericka Jackson headline Diamond League Xiamen on Saturday.
  • The meet is the second event in China in two weeks following Shanghai's season opener.
  • After several world leads were posted last weeks, the action shifts to Xiamen's Egret Stadium.

The Diamond League season rolls ahead with its second showcase in China in two weeks as Xiamen’s Egret Stadium is the setting for a stacked competition with a deep field of headliners on Saturday.

At the season opening meet in Keqiao with Shanghai as the backdrop, several world leads set the stage for a busy outdoor campaign. But Xiamen is set to deliver its own formula on the track and in the field, as Letsile Tebogo, Ryan Crouser, Sha’Carri Richardson, Shericka Jackson, Masai Russell, Jamal Britt and Jessica Hill are among the notables with eyes on the Diamond League trophy.

In the women’s 200m, Jackson and Richardson will face off again in a second showdown after Jackson dominated last week in Keqiao in 22.07. Shaunae Miller-Uibo will also be in the mix and looks to upgrade her second place finish behind Jackson from a week earlier.

Crouser will battled a substantial men’s shot put field that includes Joe Kovacs, Leonardo Fabbri and Tom Walsh. Last year Crouser was hampered by arm injuries but made his sole appearance of the season count as he took the world championship in Tokyo.

Winfred Yavi is the current women’s 3,000m steeplechase Olympic champion and her early season build will collide with a group that features Peruth Chemutai, Faith Cherotich, Norah Jeruto and Alice Finot.

Meanwhile, Jamal Britt surged to a 13.07 win in the men’s 110m hurdles last week and will line up against a familiar crew with Cordell Tinch, Rachid Muratake and Jason Joseph part of a solid field.

Collen Kebinatshipi’s is prepared for his early season theatrics to continue after clocking two sub-10 second 100m runs and grabbing the world lead at times at 2026 Botswana national athletics championships. In Xiamen he will gear up for the men’s 400m against Muzala Samukonga, Zakithi Nene, Christopher Morales Williams, Vernon Norwood and Christopher Bailey.

In the women’s 1,500, Jessica Hull will have to compete for position alongside Birke Haylom, Dorcus Ewoi, Emily Mackay, Worknesh Mesele and fellow Australian Linden Hall.

After bolting to a 33.01 world lead last week in the 300m hurdles, Alison dos Santos steps up to the men’s 400m hurdles and and tough field where Karsten Warholm, Abderrahman Samba, Kyron McMaster, Caleb Dean, Trevor Bassitt, CJ Allen and Matheus Lima will be among those ready to challenge is path to another early season world mark.
