Diamond League Silesia 2026 preview: schedule, key events and how to watch
Melissa Jefferson-Wooden will be among the stacked lineup set to dominate at the Diamond League Silesia meeting on Sunday.
  • A must-see women's 100m features Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, Julien Alfred and Sha'Carri Richardson.
  • Jakob Ingebrigtsen returns after European gold and takes on Cole Hocker, Nathan Green and Hobbs Kessler in the men's 1,500m.
  • Mondo Duplantis took victory days earlier in Lausanne and will be back for more in the men's pole vault.

Just two days after Lausanne’s Diamond League meeting reawakened the series following nearly a month of being on break, a loaded lineup of marquee names touches down in Poland for the Silesia event on Sunday.

The thirteenth showcase will rock Silesian Stadium but also points to a rapidly closing season ahead of the two-day final in Brussels in early September.

Melissa Jefferson-Wooden and Julien Alfred will bring an explosive mix of Olympic and world championship energy to the women’s 100m in a class that will close out the meeting but also likely be tough to predict until the final lean across the line. Sha’Carri Richardson also makes the task of taking the win far from a two person affair and her late season built puts her in position for victory.

“I want to check where I am after a few great training sessions,” Jefferson-Wooden said. “And before the last part of the summer. Four years ago I made my Diamond League debut here, so this place is a special one for me. And now? I have the meeting record — that is great. But I do not know if that will be enough this time.”

In the men’s 1,500m, Jakob Ingebrigtsen finds himself back in action, refueled with a fresh European championship added to his arsenal and now facing a solid field that includes Cole Hocker, Nathan Green and Hobbs Kessler.

A stacked men’s 400m will be a showdown with Rai Benjamin, Jereem Richards, Collen Kebinatshipi and Jacory Patterson ensuring the final straightaway will be the one to watch while Nikki Hiltz, Jessica Hull, Birke Haylom and Tsige Duguma set to make the bell lap the stage for delivering a stunner in the women’s 1,500m.

Oblique Seville, Kenny Bednarek, Christian Coleman and Gift Leotlela can all expect to be a factor — and qualify — in the men’s 100m final as a loaded women’s 400m brings Marileidy Paulino, Salwa Eid Naser, Nickisha Pryce and Aaliyah Butler to the same stage for another face off of a familiar unpredictable field.

Mondo Duplantis soared to victory days earlier in Lausanne after claiming gold in Birmingham at the European championships just days before that and now targets greater heights in Silesia.
