Diamond League revealed its confirmed discipline allocation for the 2027 season on Monday, with the 14-meeting series set to include 32 events across 14 points-eligible meetings on its schedule.
This breakdown highlights what events will qualify for the series final in Zurich on August 25 and 26, with the lineup closely resembling the distribution of previous seasons.
The series kicks off in Doha on May 7 and, like past meetings, a rotating set of 13 or 14 events between the men’s and women’s categories is typical, with each showcase remaining distinct. And every possible event will not be staged during the regular series, but will be contested at the final.
Doha, for example, will feature the 5,000m, 800m, 110m hurdles, high jump, pole vault, shot put and javelin for the men, while the women will compete in the 100m, 400m, 1,500m, 400m hurdles, 3,000m steeplechase and triple jump.
A full list of the allocation is available at the Diamond League website, and each discipline is hosted between four and eight times ahead of the final.
Organizers note that there will be several opportunities for athletes to face off with the sport’s top talents in what will be a packed year that concludes with the world championship in Beijing.
Meanwhile, Diamond League released its full schedule last week with a lineup that sticks close to the timetable of previous years, with events spread throughout cities in Asia, Europe, Africa and the United States.
