International law firm Cooley announced that it will serve as the legal partner of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games and Team USA.
For the next three years, as part of the collaboration, Cooley will be the provider of legal services for LA28 as in support of its corporate and litigation matters in the build up to the Games, during and after.

Cooley is based in Palo Alto, California has nearly 20 offices throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia in Boston, Chicago, New York, Seattle, London, Brussels , Beijing and Shanghai. It has extensive experience in sports and has advised leagues, teams, organizations and investors from “transactions and financings to intellectual property, regulatory compliance and dispute resolution.”
The firm joins Korn Ferry and Deloitte as the partners guiding the Games behind the scenes for crucial roles, like staffing and training a 5,000-person workforce and logistics while Delta, Comcast, Honda, Starbucks, Google and Intuit will provide transportation, media, technology, food, beverage and financial software.

Cooley says it will deploy an “integrated approach and experience advising clients at the intersection of sports and technology” and will also be in a position to provide pro bono legal support to LA28 organizers as part of a larger initiative to create an inclusive Games and a monumental moment for the city of Los Angeles.
Earlier in the month, Los Angeles-based Gibson Dunn was announced as a legal partner for the Games and will offer similar services to Cooley and has a deep connection to the local area. The firm represents teams, venues, athletic associations, sponsors, broadcasters, financial institutions, municipalities and other stakeholders.
