Many lined up at last Saturday’s Nike Cross Nationals regional meet for the Northeast and New England states in Wappingers Falls, NY.

Dozens. Hundreds. Thousands.

And there was more than enough dirt and blades of grass to go around.

Claudel Chery was there for more than just vibes and powered himself to a 15:41.7 win in the boys New York Federation Championship 5K and helped boost North Rockland to the overall title in the category with 124 points.

Zerius Dickerson made sure he was in the right places in the right times along the course and describes photographing a scene of Chery’s bold — and narrow — win with a final kick over Benjamin Berman from the Bronx High School of Science, who took second in 15:42.0.
