Smart ring maker Oura announced on Wednesday that it has boosted its board roster with the appointment of four new members as it continues to pivot toward a public offering.
Oura, the Finnish maker of smart rings that track health, fitness and sleep that recently confidentially filed for an initial public offering, will appoint Jason Warnick, Leslie Kilgore, Miki Kuusi and David Sze to its board of directors.
Warnick served as chief financial officer of Robinhood for seven years and guided the company toward its IPO in 2021 and previously worked at Amazon in several roles for nearly 20 years, while Kilgore is a longtime public company director, serving on the boards of LinkedIn, Medallia and Nextdoor. She has also worked at Amazon, Procter & Gamble and Booz Allen Hamilton in various positions.
Kuusi is a Finnish technology entrepreneur with extensive experience scaling consumer technology brands globally and co-founded Wolt in 2014, which he led before it was acquired by DoorDash in 2022. At DoorDash, Kuusi became CEO of London-based Deliveroo.
Meanwhile, Sze is a partner at Greylock Partners and led the firm’s investments in Facebook, LinkedIn, Roblox and Pandora.
“Adding Jason, Leslie, Miki, and David strengthens our board with leaders who know what it takes to build and scale category-defining global businesses,” Tom Hale, CEO of Oura said. “Their insight will be invaluable as we aim to expand Oura’s impact and serve our rapidly growing community in the U.S. and around the world.”
The moves come months after Oura confidentially filed its IPO intention with the Securities and Exchange Commission in May with no timeline for a listing.
Last week, the company was reported to have its sights on raising as much as $3 billion via an impending IPO that would value the manufacturer at $16 billion.
A possible listing would coincide with the Labor Day holiday as fund managers and current investors were confident the company could sell a large quantity of stock. Meanwhile, a $16 billion valuation puts Oura well over the nearly $11 billion initially forecasted last September when its Series E financing round aimed to raise $875 million.
In December 2024, Oura put its valuation at $5 billion during its Series D funding push.
