Hoka takes one of its standout models and give it a makeover with the Clifton UTL that the company describes as a silhouette designed to take the “knocks of city life but feel soft and cushy.”
This version of the Clifton eases away from daily trainer duty and arrives as a lifestyle model that builds on its run-focused sibling, sporting a new upper build with a polyurethane molded shell combined with a textured exoskeleton over a mesh underlayer. The result is a locked down feel that isn’t super restrictive and flow easily with every stride.
Like the well known Clifton 8 from three generations ago, the UTL rides on a generous serving of plush EVA foam in the midsole that was standard in the donor model from 2023. In this iteration, the formula still works as Hoka injects new life into a shoe that simply worked in a past life as it launches initially in the “Cosmic grey / Cilantro” colorway.
