About this episode:

Okay, hair me out!

On this episode I’m joined by Ingrid Banks, an associate professor of Black studies at UC Santa Barbara and the author of Hair Matters: Beauty, Power and Black Women’s Consciousness. We discuss how hair has historically been a signifier of both racial and gender identity, examining its implications for women — especially Black women — in sports and beyond.
