Five days of competition in Eugene meant there was plenty of time to decide who would get what slide of the golden pie at the U20 world championships as Tate Taylor, Mia Maxwell, Frankline Kibet and Anastazja Kuś were among those turning up the dial on the magnitude of their rising brightness.
And for a better part of the week — last week — peering into onto the track and in the field of Hayward Field provided a cheat sheet of what the future in the sport will look like for the next collegiate cycle, but more importantly for the Olympic medal machine.
