Olympic champions Noah Lyles, Grant Holloway and Julien Alfred have all been announced as part of a stacked field that will appear at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston on February 2.
The partial lineup was announced on Monday and will also include Jake Wightman and Parker Valby’s professional debut.
Meanwhile, Lyles kicked off his indoor campaign at the meet in February and cruised to a 6.44 win in the men’s 60m final that included Akeem Blake, Ronnie Baker and Fred Kerley. Lyles is making his seventh appearance at the meet and looks to defend his title in the first prominent showdown of the 2025. He won gold for Team USA in the 100m at the Paris Games and took home the bronze in the 200m final.
And Holloway has plenty to prove in Boston as he looks to win his fourth straight men’s 60m hurdles and continue to extend his legend in the event. Holloway was golden in Paris and surged to the top of the podium with a 12.99 performance in the men’s 110m hurdles. He has been dominant indoors, setting a 7.29 world record in the 60m hurdles at the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow to give him eight of the nine fastest times every in the event.
Alfred will make her first appearance after a stellar year that put her in the record books. She made headlines after bolting to a 10.72s win in the women’s 100m final at the Paris Games and earning first-ever Olympic medal for Saint Lucia, for a national record. Days later she then won silver in the 200m final.
This will be the 30th year for the meet and Jake Wightman is set to lead the way for the middle-distance events after a fierce battle in the men’s 1,500m with Hobbs Kessler at the 2024 meet put him in second place. But Wightman, who was the 2022 world champion in the 1,500m, is looking to rebound from and injury-shortened year that forced him to withdraw from the Paris Olympics.
And all eyes will be on the professional debut of Parker Valby after a collegiate stint that included six individual NCAA Championships for the University of Florida. She electrified the crowds in Boston as she took home wins in the 3,000m and 5,000m at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships. Valby inked a professional contract with New Balance in October and has since relocated to Boston to train under coach Mark Coogan.
