Marvin Bracy-Williams was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Orlando, Florida on August 3 according to published reports on Friday that said the sprinter was found passed out in a vehicle with its engine running.
Arrest records from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office show that Bracy-Williams, 32, was allegedly behind the wheel of a vehicle being pulled from a shallow trench by a tow truck when police arrived at the scene. The vehicle was still running and the report states that Bracy-Williams was in the driver’s seat and passed out. News of the arrest was first reported by TMZ.
The report indicated that the tow truck driver altered his company about the incident and later called the police, who got Bracy-Williams to exit the vehicle so they could administer a field sobriety test. Bracy-Williams was arrested and placed under custody when he failed the sobriety test and smelled like alcohol, according to officers.
At the station, Bracy-Williams was booked for unlawfully driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.15 percent or higher and the charge noted that an unnamed person under 18 years old was in the vehicle.
Meanwhile, in a police booking photo, Bracy-Williams is seen wearing a black shirt and a time stamp from the time of his detention reads 5:21 a.m. and bond was set at $1,000.
In June, the Anti-Doping Agency issued a 12-year sanction to Bracy-Williams for his third anti-doping rule violation for three whereabouts violations in a 12-month period between July 2025 and April 2026.
The most ban came months after he was given a 45-month ban from USADA in November 2025 when he admitted to anti-doping rule violations, which included attempting tampering. Bracy-Williams was the subject of a major investigation that included the Athletics Integrity Unit and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Orlando District Office, Miami Field Division after a tip in early 2024 uncovered evidence of illegal testosterone use.
Bracy-Williams was given an out-of-competition urine sample, which tested positive for the anabolic agent and was provisionally suspended on February 5, 2024. The inquiry would ultimately lead to the arrest and conviction of Paul Askew, who was charged under the Rodchenkov Anti-Doping Act with conspiracy scheme at track events like the 2024 USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships, 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships, 2024 U.S. Olympics Trials and the 2024 Paris Olympics.
For his cooperation, the 45-month sanction was treated as a single violation even though Bracy-Williams was found trying to manipulate the investigation and admitted to his drug violation and tampering.
While under suspension, Bracy-Williams revealed in January that he would join the Enhanced Games, which permitted the use of banned substances. At the Enhanced showcase in May in Las Vegas, Bracy-Williams took third in the men’s 100m in 10.39 behind Fred Kerley, who won the event in 9.97 and Emmanuel Matadi’s 10.05 second place finish.
