Josh Kerr kicked his year off in the men’s 2-mile at the Millrose Games with an 8:07.68 performance on Sunday in New York, and now turns his focus on mapping out his season and new partnership with Amazfit.
On Monday, Kerr revealed that he signed a contract with the wearable manufacturer and incorporate the company’s technology into his build for a long season on the track.
According to the two-time Olympic medalist, the shift to Amazfit is part of a larger plan to boost his existing daily training, recovery and competition.
“Amazfit is a brand that truly understands what elite performance requires. I respect how they support top-level athletes while still creating products that are accessible to everyone,” said Kerr. “As I continue to train smarter and compete against the best in the world, I’m proud to have Amazfit by my side as a key partner in my journey.”
Kerr joins fellow Olympians Gabby Thomas and Grant Fisher, who already use Amazfit’s wearables with the brand using underlying resources from parent company Zepp Health, a health technology firm based in the Netherlands.
“Josh embodies the mindset we build Amazfit for: discipline, resilience, and precision at the highest level,” Scott Shepley, Amazfit’s head of global marketing said. “As he returns to competition and builds toward his world-record ambitions, we’re proud to support him with technology trusted by athletes who demand excellence.”
