World Athletics announced its three finalists for Photograph of the Year on Thursday that illustrate a packed year of competition that ultimately came to close in September’s world championships in Tokyo.
Photographers from 41 countries submitted 141 images for consideration and a panel of four judges (Sally Pearson, Christian Taylor and Pascal Rondeau and Christel El Saneh) narrowed ten nominees to the three finalists. Meanwhile, the images from the ten nominees will be compiled as part of a digital exhibition by World Athletics.
