Tracking A Three-Day Grand Slam Pit Stop in Miami

If the inaugural Grand Slam Track meet in Kingston, Jamaica in April felt like a polished rehearsal, then the Miami-area event was a demonstration in hitting a well-executed stride — even as the league finds it footing in its infancy.

But on May 2-4, the Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar was a solid setting that welcomed roaring crowds, mostly cooperative South Florida weather and matchups between all 96 Racers and Challengers that produced world leads, thrilling finishes and Slam champions (and runners up) who emerged with bigger prizes than any other track events on the circuit.
