In the Crosshairs of a Country: Chronology

In what feels like light years away from the grip of the track and bounds of the field, photographer Donald Reynolds kept putting distance between himself and the sport on a cross country drive to Alaska in April.

He covered 5,800 miles in 18 days, camped, biked and ran during several stops — and was sure to be a silent bystander as he documented chunks of the trek that only the naked eye could appreciate through Mississippi, Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Texas, New Mexico and ultimately Alaska.

The chronology continues and he’ll find his way back to the track this outdoor season with a haul of moments through mileage only few could claim.
