While the finalists for World Athletics 2025 photograph of the were announced last week, the short list of images — and photographers — fell even more of the story of a packed season on the track, field and on the road.
Of the 141 images that were submitted for the top photo honor, 10 made the cut for the shortlist as a four person judging panel picked the final three.
The 10 shortlist images were included in a digital exhibition from World Athletics and demonstrate vantage points that go beyond the podium for unique looks through the lenses of the top photographers in the sport.
