LA28 organizers have tapped consulting firm Korn Ferry as its seventh founding parter that will be responsible for hiring and developing a 5,000-person workforce for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.
The partnership was unveiled on Tuesday as the a major logistical portion of the Games comes into focus.
“With millions of fans, thousands of athletes and countless volunteers, the LA28 Games will display a beautiful mosaic of people, perspectives and passion on one of the world’s most inspiring stages,” Gary D. Burnison, CEO of Korn Ferry said. “Our partnership is all about building the culture and energy that will define the Games. Simply put, we’re powering the people who power the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
The firm will team with LA28 organizers to hire, onboard and develop the massive temporary workforce that will be deployed at over 40 venues in addition to providing support.
Korn Ferry joins other founding partners Delta, Comcast, Honda, Starbucks, Google and Intuit serving in a range of roles like providing transportation, media, technology, food, beverage and financial software.
“The 2028 Games will celebrate human potential and achievement with moments that unite the Los Angeles community, the nation and people around the globe,” Casey Wasserman, LA28 chairman and president said. “Our work with Korn Ferry began nearly two years ago with the placement of Reynold Hoover as our CEO. Now, through our expanded partnership, we are building the team that will bring the LA28 Games to life and inspire the world.”
Korn Ferry has a huge task of piecing together the kind of staffing for an event of this size that hasn’t been seen since the Atlanta Games in 1996. That means identifying and training workers from the greater Los Angeles region from various backgrounds. The firm will also seek to highlight some of these workers to show an organic side of the people behind the Games in 2028.
