When renown coach Bill Bowerman began developing the now-iconic waffle sole in 1971 as Nike was still finding its footing, it was innovation in the name of pushing running forward. And the shoes that would ride on the sole were on a collision course with first major running boom with the Moon Shoe signaling a revolution in shoe design.

More than 50 years later, the Moon Shoe is reimagined with the intricate details of Bowerman’s creation returning with a modern reboot that pulls retro style into a glimpse of what runners wore when the OG model made its debut.

The soft nylon upper is draped in a leather Swoosh on either side and the black trademark waffle sole is unmistakeable to the touch and on foot.

The updated shoe first appeared as part of a collaboration with Jacquemus last September but now finds a wider release, several colorways (including navy, soft pearl, black and yellow) and will likely be a summertime directive of seeing how the model will styled in the wild these next couple of months.

The Moon Shoe is available now for $105 via SNKRS.
