District Vision and New Balance are center stage again for their fifth collaboration on the DV + NB SC Elite, a new take on the FuelCell SuperComp Elite V5 that arrives in “Linen” and “Pearl Grey” colorways.
The SC Elite is a lightweight racer that rides on a PEBA midsole with a carbon fiber plate for high energy return and the package is topped with breathable engineered mesh in a look that is distinctly minimal.
This latest collab comes with a commemorative coin on each shoe as a nod to good luck in Japanese culture — and a token that was given to District Vision co-founder Tom Daly in 2014 before a race.

And while the DV + NB SC Elite feels more like tailored alternative to the SuperComp family, all of the core racing elements are still in place — even if that means with premium touches. Whether this edition of the Elite v5 actually sees the volume of mileage that will erase some of its sharp looks remains to be seen. But it would be a worthy flex in any race.

But it’s the details that matter in this latest iteration of the SC Elite that separates it from its siblings who stay close to the New Balance aesthetic. The District Vision models feature dashes of red stitching on the “N” logo (which is suede) further push this model into its own lane of performance running and fashion.
According to District Vision, the muted tones of the “Linen” and “Pearl Grey” colorways are earth tons that “highlight the shoe’s refined material tactility and artisanal detailing.” The commemorative coin on both shoes is removable, but its likely that anyone grabbing this version of the SC Elite over the stock models will keep theirs in place to show off something meant to be special.

The DV + NB SC Elite is available now for pre-order via District Vision with a wider release globally on November 20 for $280.
