Yared Nuguse is clear about how he wants to end his long season — with a win.
With his 5th Avenue Mile debut on the horizon on Sunday, Nuguse gave his preview of the course he’s tackling for the first time, his strategy against a stack professional men’s field and the time he hopes to cross the line along the fastest 20 blocks in New York City.
Nuguse already had a major moment shine at the mile distance earlier in the year — but further uptown — after shattering the indoor mile world record in 3:46.63 at the Millrose Games at The Armory.
He takes his talents downtown with the goal of his signature lightning striking twice in the same city.
