Joe Lee

Raising and maintaining high standards are expected when Joe Lee agrees to coach any athlete and after 13 years at Maryland’s famed Bullis School, he knows what formula works before the first spike touches the track.

Lee’s mentorship has produced numerous standouts and Olympians like Masai Russell and teen phenom Quincy Wilson, whose prep career winds down in a matter of weeks. But for Lee, it’s why sticking to the plan for everyone he coaches makes his program a draw for athletes and why he’s at the helm of a national powerhouse

In a thorough conversation, Lee talks about what continues to fuel his ambition, the next crop of Bullis athletes, his future as a coach and how deep into his career he’s still learning.
