Pop singer Harry Styles was among the 55,146 competitors who participated in the Berlin Marathon on Sunday as he ran the course under a fake name — but crossed the finish line in just under three hours.

The former One Direction wasn’t announced by organizers prior to the race and clocked a 2:59:13, nearly 25 minutes faster than his 3:24:07 finish from the Tokyo Marathon in March.

A photo released by SCC Event shows Styles, who raced under the name “Sted Sarandos,” wearing a long sleeved shirt, sunglasses and a headband in the final moments of the event just past Brandenburg Gate. His finish placed him 2,241st overall with a pace of 6:50 per mile with a 1:29:08 split at the halfway point.

The “Sted Sarandos” pseudonym used by Styles on Sunday bears close resemblance to current Netflix co-chief executive officer Ted Sarandos and it’s unclear why he chose the alias for the race.

After the race, Styles posed with paralympic athlete Richard Whitehead, who finished just ahead of him in 2:58:47. Whitehead began running marathons in 2004 and is hoping to complete his 100th marathon later this year.

Since splitting with One Direction in 2016, Styles has release three albums, with the most recent, “Harry’s House,” being released in 2022 and topping the charts in numerous countries. The album also won Album of the Year honors at the 2023 Grammy Awards.

Meanwhile, Sabastian Sawe won the men’s race in a world lead 2:02:16 in just his third marathon while Rosemary Wanjiru took the women’s race in 2:21:05.
