Hall, Duplantis and Davis-Woodhall among World Athletics’ field athletes of the year nominees

World Athletics on Monday revealed the ten field athlete of the year nominees who are hoping to make the final cut, with Mondo Duplantis and Tara Davis-Woodhall leading the way.

World Athletics announced its nominees for field athletes of the year on Monday with Mondo Duplantis leading the way with a stellar season that saw him reach new heights with four world records and a world championship in the pole vault.

He is joined by a stacked group of ten athletes that includes Tara Davis-Woodhall, who went undefeated in 2025 on the way to a world title in the long jump while Anna Hall moved into tie for second on world all-time list in the heptathlon.

Meanwhile, the group is rounded out by a host of newly-crowned world champions with Mattia Furlai, Hamish Kerr, Valarie Allman and Camryn Rogers making the cut after having strong seasons.

• Duplantis was simply magical all year, winning the men’s pole vault indoor and outdoor tiles on the way to shattering four world records in an undefeated season that included the Diamond League title.

• Furlani took the indoor and outdoor long jump crowns along with grabbing two of the top three performances of the year.

• Ethan Katzberg soared up to fifth on world all-time list with area record in the hammer throw, won the world title in the event and set the world lead.

• Hamish Kerr won the world high jump title in Tokyo, got the silver indoor championship and set the world lead in the event.

• Pedro Pichardo won the triple jump at world championship in a season where he also grabbed the world lead.

• Valarie Allman claimed the world title and Diamond League crown in the discus during an undefeated season where she locked in nine of the top 11 performances of the year.

• Davis-Woodhall had a flawless season with with the top three performances of 2025 that culminated in the long jump world championship.

• Hall won the world heptathlon champion and moved to a tie for second all-time in the event.

• Nicola Olyslagers took the world indoor and outdoor high jump titles along with the Diamond League crown and is the world leader with an area record.

• Camryn Rogers hurled her way to the hammer throw world championship, world lead and moved to second all-time list in the with with the area record.
