Garmin won five CES Innovation Awards
Led by the feature-rich Forerunner 970 and industry-first innovations in the fēnix 8 Pro, Garmin won five CES Innovation Awards on Thursday.

Garmin scored huge wins at the 2026 CES Innovation Awards as the company was honored in four categories with five awards on Thursday.

The awards were presented by the Consumer Technology Association with emphasis on highlighting breakthrough innovation and design in products in the tech marketplace.

Among the wins for Garmin, the Fenix 8 Pro was noted for its first-of-its-kind MicroLED display in a watch, the Forerunner 970 was award for being a feature-rich running focused watch, while the Venu 4 was recognized for making deep strides in digital health.

“These honors highlight Garmin’s ongoing commitment to redefine what’s possible for consumers around the globe,” Susan Lyman, Garmin’s Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing said in a statement. “From introducing the world’s first MicroLED smartwatch display to pioneering advancements in equine and dive technology and creating next-generation wellness and running smartwatches with innovative health and fitness features, Garmin continues to set the standard for innovation in consumer technology.”

The five awards were covered in four categories: Fashion Tech, Digital Health, Sports and Fitness along with Pet and Animal Tech.

And the fēnix 8 Pro led the way after beating other competitors to the market with a MicroLED display in a watch, technology that touts significant advancements over AMOLED and LED displays. But it sets the stage for future Garmin wearables with better brightness in outdoor settings, improved clarity and colors — and while the technology is still in its early stages, it shows promise.

Meanwhile, the Forerunner 970 was part of a revamp (of sorts) of the Forerunner roster that also brought the 570 mid-tier model. Both arrived over the summer loaded with a range of multisport features that keep the range competitive while cleaning up a crowded lineup of watches in the Garmin stable.

The Venu 4 served as a lifestyle wearable that focused on health insights and keeping tabs on a host of data in the company’s Garmin Connect platform.

Outside of running and fitness wearable, Garmin also won an award for it Blaze Equine Wellness System that is designed for horses and provides real-time insights and data on health and fitness.

The Descent S1 Buoy device was also a CES winner and is a module that is placed in open bodies of water to track and communicate information to ensure safety for divers.

The awards were announced ahead of CES 2026, which will take place January 6-9 in Las Vegas.
