Four days of competition at the 2026 USATF Para and Outdoor Nationals touched down in New York to add its own set of ingredients on what continues to be a monument to a summer of sports in the city that will likely get a proper appraisal once the season defers to the fall weather months.
But national titles and medal chasing were the sole mission on the track and in the field, with marquee names in the sport like Noah Lyles, Sha’Carri Richardson and Melissa Jefferson-Wooden delivering when it matter the most as teen phenom Cooper Lutkenhaus took the men’s 800m win in his last race of the season with his final year of high school staring soon.
Performances by Valarie Sion, Nikki Hiltz, Nathan Green, Chase Jackson, Cordell Tinch and a host of others dominated the weekend and set the tone for the week ahead as track and field shifts to its share of the Commonwealth Games and easing through the rest of summer while the final three Diamond League meets cap the season at the end of the month — and the final approaches in September.
