  • Athlos makes its international debut in London with 42 of the top competitors in the sport at a sold-out StoneX Stadium.
  • Gabby Thomas looks to end her season with the 200m crown as a loaded mile will see Georgia Hunter Bell, Birke Haylom and Nikki Hiltz battle to the line.
  • Sha'Carri Richardson targets 100m dominance while Keely Hodgkinson defends her 800m title.

After a thunderous roar of a season finale at last week’s Ultimate Championship in Budapest, track and field takes one last victory lap to end the year with Athlos in London on Friday.

The all-women showcase arrives at a sold-out StoneX Stadium with Gabby Thomas, Sha’Carri Richardson and Keely Hodgkinson sharing Olympic medalist duties as the Alexis Ohanian-backed competition makes its international debut.

A loaded roster will bring 42 athletes representing the sport’s top talent to North London with their sights set on being coronated with Tiffany crown and taking home their share of a $1 million prize purse.

With organizers suddenly canceling the scheduled New York portion of the series that was set for October 2 at Icahn Stadium, the focus shifts to London. In late August, Ohanian conceded that in the best interest of the athletes, the event should be integrated with the track and field season rather than tacked on at the end of a long year.

“Our goal is that, starting in the 2027 season, Athlos events will move to be aligned with the global athletics calendar,” Ohanian said. “Athlos was founded to put athletes first and that means building a schedule that lets the world’s best female athletes compete healthy and at their peak.”

Meanwhile, seven events are on the schedule for Friday, with the 100m hurdles, long jump, 100m, mile, 400m, 800m and 200m all being featured for the capacity crowd.

Monae’ Nichols and Alyssa Jones look to leap at a chance of the long jump title without an injured Tara Davis-Woodlhall in the mix, while Devynne Charlton, Megan Simmonds and Tobi Amusan lead a loaded 100m field.

Richardson will have the crowd on its feel in the 100m that she is all but guaranteed to dominate as Gabby Thomas will battle Anavia Battle and Kayla White in the 200m.

Marileidy Paulino rides a dominant season into the 400m against Salwa Eid Naser and Nickisha Pryce while Keely Hodgkinson steps into a stacked 800m matchup with Juliette Whittaker, Raevyn Rogers and Sophie O’Sullivan in a bid to defend her crown.

The mile will close out the competition in what will be the most contested event as Georgia Hunter Bell, Birke Haylom, Nikki Hiltz, Klaudia Kazimierska, Jessica Hull and Dorcus Ewoi all have the speed and late kick to win this showdown.
