Whoop announced on Thursday that it has entered into a partnership with Scuderia Ferrari HP to become the racing team’s health and fitness tracker partner for the upcoming Formula 1 season.
According to the wearable manufacturer, the collaboration will provide a glimpse into the health, recovery and fitness of the entire organization in a strategy that looks to work with the team’s existing medical staff to integrate all of its insights during the course of a busy schedule.
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc make up the team’s driving duo and Hamilton has already been seen wearing a Whoop device along with other members of Ferrari’s support staff.
“WHOOP and Scuderia Ferrari HP share the same obsession: performance at the edge,” Will Ahmed, Whoop founder and CEO said.” “Scuderia Ferrari HP has spent generations turning data and precision into speed. We’ve done the same for the human system. Bringing those worlds together is a natural fit — and we’re proud to bring this expertise into Formula 1.”
For Whoop, the partnership with Ferrari will be its first in motorsports even though current F1 champ Lando Norris has been spotted wearing the trackers since 2024.
“The partnership with Whoop allows us to extend our data-driven approach beyond the car, to aspects more related to the human factor, by combining our expertise in high-performance engineering with Whoop insights into human health,” Lorenzo Giorgetti, Chief Racing Revenue Officer of Ferrari said. “This collaboration represents a further step in our commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, with the objective of creating the best possible conditions for the team, on and off the track.”
Like all other F1 organizations, Ferrari is technology-focused and data intensive insights are just as critical as the actual performance of its cars on the track. With both companies already getting a head start on deploying the devices among members of team, sharing and interpreting metrics should be seamless when the season begins in March.
“This partnership goes far beyond a logo on the car,” Dr. Kristen Holmes, head of Human Performance, Principal Science at Whoop said. “By embedding Whoop across the team, we’re able to deliver continuous, real-world insights into recovery, sleep, strain, and resilience; giving Scuderia Ferrari HP’s drivers, and entire organization the essential data to adapt faster, manage fatigue, and maintain their wellbeing under the extreme conditions of this sport and pressure.”
