Matt Chittim was named as Running USA's new manager of business development and will lead efforts to expand partnerships, new revenue streams and boost membership.

Running USA announced on Friday that Matt Chittim will be its new manager of business development where will help expand partnerships, revenue streams and support the onboarding of the organization’s members.

Chittim is the host of the Rambling Runner Podcast and co-host of Road to the Trials and Relay, which features every 2028 Olympic marathon trials qualifier. He’s produced over 1,000 episodes between both shows, which have ranked within the top 100 sports podcasts in the United States.

The role pulls Chittim’s blend of media, running, engagement and fundraising together to drive the next phase of Running USA’s drive boost its community within the industry at a time when the sport’s participation and business footprint continues to soar.

“Matt’s broad experiences from coaching and fundraising, to his entrepreneurial endeavors, content creation, and sponsorship development, make him a great fit with our team at Running USA,” Shawn K. Sullivan, executive director for Running USA said. “His relationship-building skills, network, and passion for all things running will bolster our membership and sponsorship verticals as we strive to engage, educate and elevate the running industry and its constituents.”

Chittim previously worked as a major gifts officer at Providence College and Johnson & Wales University where he helped raised more than $1 million annually in philanthropic support. Earlier, he worked in roles at Brown University and Roger Williams University that spanned relationship management, communications, and program development.

Running USA is the top running industry trade organization in the U.S. and brings insider and leaders of the sport to its annual conference and a major booster of expanding the sport through education, data and research.
